Danny Verdel

My name is Danny Verdel — full-time software developer and triathlete with the ambition to build a life as a professional triathlete.

I grew up as a speed skater and performed at national level for years. After a period without sports I signed up for a marathon, where I rediscovered my passion for endurance sport — which developed further into triathlon, where the combination of swimming, cycling, and running keeps challenging me.

My first half-distance triathlon, finishing well below my goal time, confirmed I am serious about growing. I am currently building toward 2026: my first full-distance Ironman with a target of sub-9 hours, qualifying for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships — with Kona and a professional license as the ultimate goal.
